Officials Investigate Mysterious Death at Bon Air Apartments

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Richmond County Sheriff Office responded to a suspicious death at the Bon Air Apartments on Tuesday.

When deputies arrived at 2101 Walton Way on May 20, they discovered a deceased male inside an apartment. The person, as reported by RCSO, was identified as 71-year-old Larry Laws.

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and pronounced Laws deceased at approximately 5:45 p.m.

According to police, Laws was discovered by his nephew, who contacted 911.

“Deputies from the Road Patrol at the location called for help from the Criminal Investigation Division and the Crime Scene Unit because of the situation they found,” stated RCSO. “The death is currently being considered suspicious while awaiting autopsy results.”

Due to the active investigation, no further information is being provided at this time, according to the sheriff’s office.
