MOHAWK, Tenn. (WJHL) — A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) indicated that a person sustained injuries in a collision involving four vehicles, which included two semi-trucks, in Greene County on Sunday afternoon.
According to the THP, a Freightliner from New Jersey was heading northbound when it collided with the rear of another Freightliner, which was parked and halted on the shoulder.
Debris from the crash reportedly struck two more vehicles that were also traveling northbound, a Mercedes E35 and a Ford Explorer.
The THP said the driver of the first semi-truck, Avaliani Giorgi, 35, was injured and charged with due care.
The THP reported that the crash occurred at 2:23 p.m. As of 5:51 p.m. on Sunday, both the northbound right lane and shoulder remained closed, as noted on the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) SmartWay Map.
