'Operation Bad Baby' shuts down North Port drug house

NORTH PORT, Fla. (WFLA) — The North Port Police Department officially announced the closure of a local drug house on Tuesday, following ‘Operation Bad Baby.’

The investigation had been ongoing, and on Monday, the special investigations unit successfully carried out a search warrant in the 2000 block of Alliance Ave.

NPPD called for assistance, and residents noticed a significant law enforcement presence, including SWAT teams, K-9 units, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The operation’s name was inspired by one suspect, 45-year-old Jasiel “Baby” Izaguirre Rodriguez, who was arrested along with 46-year-old Jennifer Pardy.

Recovered from the home were 1.5 pounds of cocaine, MDMA, Psilocybin mushrooms, THC products, anabolic steroids, illegal prescription pills, and 24 illegal firearms.

Pardy faces charges of trafficking cocaine, multiple counts of selling controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, use of a structure or vehicle for trafficking drugs, and committing a first-degree felony with a weapon.

Izaguirre Rodriguez was also charged with trafficking cocaine, multiple counts of selling controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and committing a first-degree felony with a weapon. Additionally, he was charged with one count of disturbing the peace and two counts of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Records from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office indicated Izaguirre Rodriguez was being held for ICE, though no additional details about his citizenship status were provided.
