Star of Oscar-nominated film arrested in Texas: police

In a development that has captured public attention, actor Rudy Youngblood, known for his leading role in Mel Gibson’s film “Apocalypto,” found himself behind bars in Belton, Texas, this week. Local authorities have confirmed the arrest, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The situation unfolded when an officer approached a parked vehicle near a boat ramp at Lake Belton around 12:20 a.m. The vehicle’s owner was none other than Youngblood himself. Upon interaction, the officer discovered that Youngblood had an outstanding warrant issued by the Travis County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant was related to charges of assault involving a family or household member, with allegations of impeding breathing or circulation.

As the arrest process was underway, officers reportedly uncovered a white crystalline substance in Youngblood’s possession. This discovery could potentially lead to additional charges, pending the results of laboratory tests.

At the time of the arrest, Youngblood was taken to the Bell County Jail. By late Wednesday morning, he remained in custody on the Travis County charges. His bond was set at $20,000, underscoring the gravity of the situation he faces. Authorities have indicated that further legal actions hinge on the pending lab results of the substance found during the arrest.
