In Oklahoma City, a state legislator has called for a formal inquiry following a controversial court decision that allowed a Stillwater teen, convicted of several violent sex offenses, to avoid incarceration.

The teenager’s sentencing, which many are criticizing as overly lenient, came after he successfully appealed to be classified as a “youthful offender” instead of being tried as an adult. This action has led State Representative J.J. Humphrey (R-Lane) to question the justice process in this case.
