Two women arrested for attempted prison contraband drop in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. () – On Thursday night, two women were taken into custody related to a suspected contraband delivery to a prison, as stated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

While on patrol in the Davisboro area around 9 p.m. on June 5, deputies came across a suspicious vehicle parked at Washington State Prison. After conducting a traffic stop, they reportedly uncovered “evidence indicating a possible prison contraband operation.”

Viviona Smith, 22, of Auburn, Ga. and Kendra Yates, 27, of Duluth, Ga. were both arrested.

Both face the following charges:

  • Trafficking Meth x2, 
  • Trafficking MDMA x2, 
  • Possession Of Meth x2, 
  • Possession of MDMA x2, 
  • Possession Of marijuana with intent x2, Possession of marijuana over and ounce x2,
  • Trading with inmates x8, 
  • Items prohibited by inmates x8, Unlawful use of an unmanned aircraft x2
  • Possession of Knife or firearm during commission of crime x2, 
  • Possession of tools during the commission of a crime x2.

Inside the vehicle, deputies discovered three ounces of methamphetamine, five ounces of MDMA, four pounds of marijuana, four pounds of tobacco, a knife, eleven cell phones with chargers, and a drone along with its remote and batteries.

“We take these criminal activities seriously, and we will continue to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law,” said Sheriff Joel Cochran.
