LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – On Monday afternoon, a tragic accident claimed the life of a man who was walking along a road in Lake County, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of Rolling Acres Road and Abeble Road, according to troopers.

Details from the crash report indicate that a Ford Edge was heading south on Rolling Acres Road near Abeble Road.

Simultaneously, a pedestrian was also making his way along south Rolling Acres Road.

Troopers revealed that the SUV’s driver was unable to prevent a collision, striking the pedestrian with the vehicle’s front right side. This impact propelled the man into a nearby fire fence.

Authorities identified the victim as a 25-year-old resident of Lady Lake, who was declared deceased at the accident site.

The driver of the SUV, identified as an 18-year-old Lady Lake woman, was not injured.

    The crash remains under investigation.
