Suspect arrested in Glynn County shooting

Person Taken Into Custody for Shooting Incident in Glynn County

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. () — A shooting in Glynn County Friday night left one woman with a gunshot wound.

Officers from the Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) arrived at the scene near Mulligans and the Royal Inn Hotel in Brunswick, where they discovered a woman with a wound in her lower abdomen. She was taken to a hospital in Brunswick before being flown to another facility in Jacksonville. Her condition is currently stable.

GCPD detectives identified the shooter as 32-year-old Brandon Betts. According to detectives, Betts fired several shots from a shotgun towards the victim, her two children, aged 7 and 9, and another male individual.

Betts was taken into custody on Friday and faces charges including four counts of aggravated assault and one count of possessing a firearm or knife during the commission of, or attempt to commit, a crime. More charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
