Multi-state police chase ends in Danville

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A police pursuit involving multiple agencies started in Indiana and ended in Vermilion County on Sunday.

The Danville Police Department reported that a pursuit unfolded throughout Danville, culminating when the suspect crashed the vehicle while trying to re-enter the interstate.

The Illinois State Police clarified they did not participate in the chase. However, they confirmed that the pursuit on I-74 occurred around 12:15 p.m. on Sunday and involved the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office along with the Fountain County Sheriff’s Office from Indiana.

An official from the Fountain County Sheriff’s Office informed WCIA that the investigation is still active, and no additional information is available at present.

WCIA also reached out to the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office for more information and is waiting to hear back.
