() A K-9 unit in Indiana located two missing children Sunday after they became separated from their mother in the Hoosier National Forest.
Deputy Cody Loncaric, along with his K-9 partner Knox, was sent to assist in finding the missing 11-year-olds, as reported by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. A Facebook update from the sheriff’s department stated that Knox initiated his tracking efforts near the area where the children had disappeared.
“K-9 Knox directed emergency responders towards the correct path, which led to the successful recovery of the two missing kids,” the update noted. “We are immensely grateful for the outstanding collaboration displayed by everyone involved.”
Knox has been a member of the sheriff’s office since June, following his graduation from Redemption Ranch K9. The organization shared that Knox started life as a stray near an Indiana truck stop before being rescued. Nowadays, he’s dedicated to paying it forward.
