In a recent enforcement operation in the Chicago area, immigration authorities apprehended a European suspect flagged by INTERPOL, according to federal officials.

The arrest took place on Friday at a Lowe’s store as part of a larger initiative. U.S. Border Patrol agents detained Kryzstof Panasiuk, who is listed in a “red notice” by the International Criminal Police Organization, as confirmed by the authorities.

The Department of Homeland Security identifies Panasiuk as a “criminal illegal alien from Poland,” wanted in Poland on charges of fraud and dealing illicit narcotics. Officials report that he entered the United States in 2001 on a B2 visa, which expired in 2011.
