Pulled pork sandwiches recalled over plastic contamination

E.A. Sween Company has issued a recall for one of its sandwich products due to potential contamination with plastic fragments, raising safety concerns.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has identified that this recall impacts approximately 127,887 pounds of paper-wrapped, 5.5-ounce “Deli EXPRESS BBQ PULLED PORK on a sesame bun” sandwiches.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) noted that these sandwiches might have been distributed to stores throughout the continental U.S., as well as Hawaii and Guam, from January 16 to October 23, 2025. Additionally, FSIS mentioned that the sandwiches were also supplied to the Department of Defense.
