Fruit bread, fritters recalled in Georgia, South Carolina

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Hillside Orchard Farms is recalling several flavors of their fruit breads and fritters due to an undeclared allergen.

During an inspection by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the company learned that some of their bread and fritter labels failed to list egg as an ingredient.

According to the FDA, these products were mainly available at farmers markets and roadside stalls across Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

The recalled breads and fritters were distributed between Nov. 18, 2024 – July 16, 2025.

Individuals who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs could face a significant or potentially lethal allergic reaction if they eat these items, as noted by the FDA.

Authorities are urging customers who have purchased these items to return them to the original point of sale for a full refund, or dispose of the products. For inquiries, consumers can contact 706-782-4995, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.
