A councilman from Reidsville, Ga., was taken into custody on Tuesday, facing multiple charges, among them driving under the influence, as his booking report illustrates.
Pharis Daniel Bennett, also known as Dan, was reportedly arrested on six charges by the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Reidsville post.
Records from the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) detail that the charges against him include causing serious injury by vehicle, exceeding speed limits, DUI, not staying within lane boundaries, reckless driving, and violating seatbelt laws.
Bennett allegedly spent one day in the Tattnall County jail and was released on an $8,000 bond Tuesday.

Reidsville Mayor Vickie Nail shared on social media that the incident took place on May 4. She mentioned that Bennett sustained injuries and was unconscious for some time following the crash.
At least one other person was injured, according to Nail’s post.
Bennett was reportedly sworn into his position as a councilman on April 11.
