Dog the Bounty Hunter's step-grandson killed by father in accidental shooting: report

NAPLES, Fla. (WJW) — Over the weekend, Duane Chapman’s 13-year-old step-grandson was reportedly killed in an accidental shooting allegedly involving the boy’s father.

Sources like People and the Naples Daily News, referencing a report from TMZ, indicate that Chapman’s stepson Gregory Zecca, the son of Chapman’s wife Francie, purportedly shot and killed his son Anthony at a Naples, Florida, apartment.

The Naples Daily News noted that Collier County sheriff’s deputies were investigating a shooting death at an apartment complex shortly after 8 p.m. on July 19, classifying it as an “isolated incident.”

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Nexstar that its “detectives are conducting a thorough investigation looking into all the elements of this tragic incident.”

The Chapmans reportedly told TMZ, through a representative, “We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible, tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony.”

Chapman, best known for his long-running reality TV show “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” married Francie in 2021. Gregory Zecca is her son from a previous marriage.

Chapman’s previous wife, Beth Chapman, who famously starred alongside him on the show, died in 2019 at the age of 51.
