Richmond County Woman Arrested for Carjacking and Aggravated Assault

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – A woman was taken into custody in Richmond County on Thursday for allegedly committing a carjacking, which resulted in the victim being dragged and suffering multiple broken bones.

As per an arrest warrant issued by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Stephanie Castleberry was detained and accused of felony Carjacking/Strongarm and Aggravated Assault following an incident on August 1, 2024.

The warrant indicates the occurrence happened at 3646 Wheeler Road in Augusta. Castleberry purportedly seized the victim’s 2020 GMC Sierra pickup truck when the victim stepped out of his vehicle to provide assistance at a car accident scene.

Castleberry is accused of dragging the victim in her attempt “to drive away in the victim’s vehicle causing the victim to sustain a broken pelvis and two broken ribs.”

The victim was transported to Doctors Hospital in Augusta to be treated for his injuries.
