Tri-Cities, TN — In a much-anticipated soccer match, the two top teams in the area clashed as Dobyns-Bennett welcomed Science Hill. Contrary to their previous encounter, which ended 1-0, the Lady Toppers dominated in the second half, ultimately securing a 5-1 victory.
Sullivan East Soccer claimed a 1-0 victory over Volunteer. Anna Nagle netted the only goal for the Patriots, while Sara Doss achieved a clean sheet. Up next for the Patriots is a home game against Elizabethton for a District match on Tuesday.
In volleyball action, the Lady Toppers traveled to Bristol to challenge the skilled Tennessee High Vikings. Science Hill emerged victorious, winning with scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-16. Addy Gentry contributed with 13 digs, celebrating her 1,000th career dig. Zoey Phillips and Ashton Blair added 6 and 5 kills respectively, and Bree Adams tallied 11 assists. Tennessee High School (17-7, 7-3) will host the Stateline Slam tournament on Saturday before wrapping up the regular season against Sullivan East on Monday’s Senior Night.
In Bluff City the Sullivan East Lady Patriot Volleyball team defeated Johnson Co on Thursday in District Action 19-25, 25-14, 25-14, 25-12.
