Hot and muggy Saturday, pop-up t-storms possible, rain and t-storms likely Sunday

A Flood Watch remains in effect for Bell, Harlan, Leslie, Letcher and Pike counties in Kentucky through Sunday morning. Heavy rain could lead to instances of flash flooding in flood-prone areas.

The Storm Team 11 Forecast calls for partly cloudy skies this afternoon with a 20% chance of pop-up showers and thunderstorms. One or two could briefly become strong, with gusty winds.

The high will top out around 88 degrees. The current record high for Saturday is 86 degrees.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a chance of a few passing showers after midnight. The low will be a mild 63 degrees. 

The front back to our west will finally swing east on Sunday, bringing the threat of an 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms.

Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible primarily through the afternoon and evening ahead of the front. Our viewing area is within a Marginal Risk from the Storm Prediction Center.

Damaging wind and heavy rainfall that could lead to localized flash flooding are the primary concerns. The high will be 73 degrees.

Sunday night, we will keep the threat for scattered showers under mostly cloudy skies. Overnight lows will stay mild in the upper 50s. Chance of rain 60%.

Monday temperatures will be falling throughout the day to around 47 degrees with the high occurring in the morning. There will be a 30% chance of showers under cloudy skies.

Passing showers or mountain flurries are possible Monday night with a low of 32 degrees. 

A lingering chance of showers or mountain flurries will be possible early Tuesday with afternoon sunshine. The high will be a chilly 50 degrees with a 20% chance of precipitation. Tuesday night will be clear and cold with areas of frost possible. The low will be 28 degrees.

Wednesday will be sunny with a high of 62 degrees. Wednesday will be partly cloudy with a low of 36 degrees. 

Clouds will be on the increase Thursday with a 50% chance of scattered showers by the afternoon and evening. The high will be a mild 65 degrees.

Scattered showers continue into next Friday under mostly cloudy skies. The high will be 62 degrees with a 60% chance of rain.
