Savoy's Industrial Donuts closed its doors for good

Savoy's Industrial Donuts Permanently Shuts Down

SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — Industrial Donuts has permanently closed its doors on Saturday after over six years in operation, using up the remainder of its inventory.

Staff members indicate that increasing expenses, declining sales, and the rise of competing chains contributed to the decision to shut down. This news came as a surprise to the bakery’s loyal patrons.

Those fans started lining up for their last dozen Industrial Donuts at 5 a.m. Saturday. Some of them said they waited more than an hour.

“I’ve been waiting probably around 20 or 25 minutes. I’m prepared to wait as long as it takes,” Luke Ewoldt expressed. “I’m really disappointed that it’s gone because it seemed like it was going to disappear suddenly. Knowing I can’t come back to enjoy more donuts is just disheartening.”

Industrial Donuts is now part of a growing list of recently closed donut shops in the area.

Carmella’s Donuts’ building was demolished this past week and Pandamonium Doughnuts shut down earlier this summer.
