ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – If you’re planning any major construction ventures soon, this upcoming auction could be just what you’re looking for.

Orange County is set to auction a variety of vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks, tractor trucks, vans, SUVs, pickup trucks, ATVs, boats, golf carts, tractors, forklifts, and even a street sweeper. This diverse range of machinery offers potential bidders a chance to secure necessary tools at a fraction of their usual cost.

With starting bids as low as $50 for an ATV and $1,000 for a dump truck, the auction provides a unique opportunity for bargain hunters and businesses alike. The county routinely conducts these auctions to offload surplus property, directing the proceeds back into local government funds. Notably, the previous auction in August successfully generated over $943,000, bolstering local resources significantly.

This current auction began on Wednesday and will continue through to next Wednesday, February 4. It offers more than just vehicles; an array of other items are up for grabs, catering to a variety of needs and interests. Prospective buyers can find office supplies, yard and construction equipment, generators, soccer goal frames, exercise equipment, kitchen appliances, computers, and even fire hoses and ladders among the listings.

This latest auction got underway on Wednesday and runs through next Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Vehicles are not the only items up for sale. The county is also selling office supplies, yard and construction equipment, generators, soccer goal frames, exercise equipment, kitchen equipment and appliances, computers and even fire hoses and ladders.

Many of the auctions start at $5 and feature several items.

Here’s a sample of some of the more interesting items:

  • 79 Taser guns with the battery and charge head removed, with a starting bed of $5.
  • A lot of kitchen equipment, including ovens, hot boxes, pizza warmers, cappuccino machines, a flat top griddle and a reach-in refrigerator, with a starting bid of $250.

The catch — everything is sold as is, and the county doesn’t always check to make sure the item works.

Everyone does have a chance to check out the items at the the comptroller office’s warehouse before bidding.

To find more information, or to bid on an auction, go to the county’s public surplus auction website.
