SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The 10th Annual Memorial Health Championship is one of only 20 locations on the Korn Ferry Tour in the United States, providing Central Illinois golf enthusiasts with an opportunity to witness talent that is nearly PGA Tour level.

“An event like this is as significant as our Korn Ferry Tour championship, surprisingly, as it receives a tremendous amount of love and attention here,” stated tour media representative Taylor Cardonna.

Unfortunately, Round 2 of this year’s tournament was unable to be completed after storms and later nightfall.

This year, four Illini are participating, with two having completed their rounds before a delay and the other two still needing to finish a few holes. Adrien Dumont de Chassart and D.A. Points completed their play but will not advance past the cut.

Luke Guthries entered the day as the leader and sits tied for second at -13 with five second-round holes still to play. Recent Illinois grad Jackson Buchanan started his day with a birdie on his first hole and finished half of the second round, tied at ninth at -10.

Play will resume Saturday morning before the third round begins.
