BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – An older gentleman was apprehended last week following an incident that resulted in a 70-year-old woman needing hospitalization, as reported by the South Daytona Police Department.
In a release, police said they responded on July 25 around 4 p.m. at the Red-Carpet Inn, located at 1855 S. Ridgewood Ave.
The authorities stated that 69-year-old William Collelo was detained under an active arrest warrant and is now charged with aggravated battery against an individual over the age of 65.
“The female victim remains in critical condition at the Halifax Health Medical Center,” the release reads.
The release also shows that the incident happened on July 24 at 10:54 p.m. in Room No. 123.
No additional information has been provided at this time, including what may have prompted the attack.
