A former special education teacher from Kingsport, Tennessee, is facing sentencing on Friday afternoon for charges related to child abuse. Michelle Carpenter, who worked with pre-school special education students within the Kingsport City Schools system, was indicted on multiple counts of felony child abuse. The charges stem from incidents of abuse that allegedly occurred while she was employed as a teacher.
