PANA, Ill. (WCIA) — A 41-year-old Shelby County man was arrested in Pana on Wednesday for methamphetamine and theft related charges.

On Facebook, the Pana Police Department reported the arrest of Angel Stout from Tower Hill on July 23 at 5:21 p.m. She faces preliminary charges for possession of under five grams of meth, theft exceeding $500, and two counts related to meth delivery. Stout was subsequently taken to the Christian County Correctional Center.

The next day, a formal charge was issued by Christian County States Attorney John McWard against Stout for the unlawful delivery of meth in quantities ranging from 15 to 100 grams, a Class X Felony. Additionally, a motion was submitted to deny her pretrial release.

A hearing on pretrial release was conducted, and Judge Brad Paisley ruled against granting Stout pretrial release. She will remain in custody until her upcoming court dates.

The arrest was made by the Central Illinois Enforcement Group (CIEG) Drug Task Force, a multi-jurisdictional narcotics unit led by the Illinois State Police. Members of the Pana Police Department and the Christian County Sheriff’s Office are assigned to this unit.

CIEG initiated a narcotics investigation into this incident a few weeks ago, Pana Police said, after receiving information of meth being trafficked into the City of Pana.
