DICKENSON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — An extensive, months-long drug investigation in Dickenson County has led to 39 people facing charges.

According to Dickenson County Sheriff Jeremy Fleming, a large-scale arrest operation was conducted across the county on Friday.

In total, 39 people were charged and face more than 200 felony counts related to the distribution of illegal drugs, Fleming said.

“Our office is resolute in its efforts to actively pursue individuals involved in the illegal drug trade within our communities,” Fleming expressed. “This operation highlights the persistent dedication and teamwork of local and state agencies in safeguarding public safety and ensuring that offenders face consequences.”

The 29th Circuit Narcotics Task Force, Clintwood Police Department and Virginia State Police assisted in the arrests.

“The sheriff’s office is grateful to all partnering agencies for their relentless efforts and excellent cooperation throughout this investigation,” Fleming added.
