WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Officials in Washington County, Tennessee, are looking for a man who was last spotted in the Oak Grove region early Wednesday morning.
According to Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff Keith Sexton, Michael Vernon Edwards was arrested after a traffic stop early Wednesday.

Edwards reportedly managed to get to the front seat of the cruiser and stole the vehicle, Sexton said.
After crashing the cruiser during a short pursuit, Edwards reportedly fled on foot in the Cora Lane area of Oak Grove.
Sexton said authorities have been on scene since midnight searching for Edwards.
Edwards is not considered armed, but he is a parole violator, Sexton said.

Edwards is described as follows:
- Roughly 6 feet tall
- Weighs around 205 lbs
- Brown hair, brown beard
- Last seen with a red t-shirt around his handcuffs
The Johnson City Police Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Tennessee Highway Patrol are assisting in the search.
