ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A teacher from Winter Garden elementary school found herself in legal trouble following her arrest last week in connection with a domestic violence incident at her residence, as reported by local law enforcement.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers responded to a call at the home of Tina Will, 50, on October 14. Following the incident, Will required medical attention and was subsequently transported to a hospital.

Investigators revealed that an argument had erupted between Will and her husband, which prompted their children to intervene in an attempt to defuse the situation.

Acting on their children’s advice, Will’s husband retreated to an upstairs room to distance himself from the conflict. However, Will pursued him, forcibly entering one of the rooms and then proceeded to confront the children, authorities noted.

The affidavit describes a physical altercation where Will allegedly pulled a family member’s hair, resulting in a handful of hair being yanked out. In the ensuing struggle, she was pushed away, causing her to fall and sustain a cut to her right eyebrow after hitting a metal basket organizer.

Following the altercation, Will was apprehended and now faces charges including domestic violence battery and child abuse.

Orange County Public Schools officials told News 6 that Will was an employee at Water Spring Elementary, though she is currently on administrative leave.

According to school officials, Tina has been an employee with the district since Aug. 2, 2022. The following message was sent to families and staff at the school following Will’s arrest.

“This message is being sent on behalf of your principal. We wanted to make you aware that one of our employees has been placed on administrative leave after an arrest unrelated to our school. Please rest assured that all allegations are taken seriously and there is an ongoing investigation by the district’s Office of Professional Standards. Although we cannot discuss employee matters, please know this person will not be on campus during the investigation. Thank you for your continued support.”
