In Osceola County, Florida, a troubling incident at the Gaylord Palms resort led to the arrest of a woman on Friday. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has charged 36-year-old Tiffany Griffith with aggravated child abuse after she allegedly submerged a 6-year-old boy underwater in the resort’s pool.

The unsettling event unfolded in the afternoon when deputies responded to reports from the child’s parents. According to the sheriff’s office, their son was swimming with another boy of the same age when a dispute apparently arose. In a disturbing turn, the mother of the other boy, identified as Griffith, allegedly entered the pool and pushed the reporting party’s son under the water for several seconds.

Following the incident, Griffith was taken into custody and is currently being held without bond, according to official records. As this story continues to develop, News 6 is actively seeking additional details to provide a clearer picture of the events that transpired.

The mother of the other child had entered the pool and placed her hands on the shoulders of the reporting party’s son, at which point she allegedly pushed him under the water for several seconds, the statement reads.

Griffith was being held on no bond a the time of this report, records show.

News 6 has requested more information. This is a developing story and may be updated.
