PALM BAY, Fla. – A minor tornado resulted in slight damage to a residence and uprooted a tree in Palm Bay on Sunday afternoon, as reported by the National Weather Service in Melbourne.
The NWS reported minor structural damage and vegetative damage in the area of Airoso Road SE and Cherokee Road SE.
Witnesses provided photos showing a small oak tree that had been uprooted, along with damage to a home’s fence, shed, and some shingles missing from the roof, according to the NWS.
“At this time, bases on these reports, and KMLB radar data, a brief EF-0 tornado with peak wind gusts of 65 mph touched in the area,” the NWS said.
Authorities mentioned they will collaborate with Brevard County Emergency Management to collect additional details, though no storm survey is currently scheduled.
A tornado warning was not issued for the area when the incident happened.
