6 Logan Co. fire depts. respond to house, garage fire in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Ill. (WCIA) — Late Friday night, six fire agencies from Logan County tackled a major garage fire in Lincoln that extended to the connected house.

On July 4, at around 11:39 p.m., the Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District was dispatched to a house fire on Illini Drive. Firefighters encountered significant flames in the garage that had spread to the home.

Before fire units arrived, all residents had safely left the home. The blaze was swiftly controlled, resulting in only minor interior fire damage. Firefighters also ventilated and performed an overhaul on the residence.

There were no reported injuries on scene and the cause of this fire remains under investigation.
