An investigation is in progress at Edisto Beach following a fire on Saturday afternoon at a residence linked to a circuit court judge in Colleton County, South Carolina.

The fire happened in a gated area off Planters Retreat in Jeremy Cay. Video from a witness showed a large home engulfed in flames.

While specific details about the blaze are still being gathered, News 2 is actively verifying information with the Edisto Fire Department.

KC Campbell, public information officer for Colleton County Fire Rescue, said the agency assisted by sending firefighter-paramedics to the scene.

According to reports, three individuals were transported to the Medical University of South Carolina due to the incident. One person was airlifted, and two others were taken by ambulance. The severity of their injuries remains unknown.
