NEW MARKET, Tenn. (WATE) — A small plane was forced to perform an emergency landing in a field after running out of fuel in New Market on Saturday afternoon, as reported by the New Market Fire Department.
The Cessna 150 aircraft came to a stop near Mill Springs Road and Hatmaker Road, according to the fire department. Officials alerted the public to steer clear of the vicinity around 4:30 p.m.
There was only one person aboard, and fortunately, no one was hurt, according to the fire department. By around 9 a.m., the department informed that the plane remained in the field, awaiting an inspector to assess it.
