South Effingham earns non-region win, Savannah Arts falls in 3 sets to Brunswick

SAVANNAH, Ga. — The South Effingham volleyball team secured a non-region victory, whereas Savannah Arts Academy was defeated in three sets by Brunswick on Sept. 18.

South Effingham triumphed in straight sets against Calvary Day. The Mustangs now hold a 24-9 overall record this season, having won 15 of their last 16 matches. Their sole defeat in this stretch was to Glynn Academy on Sept. 16. South Effingham’s next match is scheduled for a week from today, where they will host a tri-match featuring Brunswick and Savannah Christian.

Calvary Day’s record falls to 12-7 for the season. Currently enduring their longest losing streak of the year with three consecutive losses, they aim to return to winning form on Sept. 23 when they participate in a tri-match against Camden County and Richmond Hill.

Savannah Arts Academy’s record now stands at 11-16. In a tri-match involving Brunswick and Camden County, the Lady Panthers claimed the first set but lost the following two, ultimately falling 15-13 in the final set.

The Panthers return to action on Sept. 25 in a tri-match with Greenbrier and Effingham County.
