STARBASE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — SpaceX has slated its third attempt for the tenth Starship flight test on Tuesday evening, as per a news release.

According to SpaceX’s website, the launch window for Starship opens at 6:30 p.m. Central Time.

The company had canceled its previously scheduled flight test for Monday due to the weather.

In this tenth launch, the Super Heavy Booster is set to undertake various flight experiments as it heads toward a landing in the Gulf, without returning to the launch site for a recovery. SpaceX highlights that the main focus for the booster will be its landing burn and the configuration of its engines.

Louis Balderas from LabPadre Space Channel shared with Nexstar’s KVEO that during the landing phase, SpaceX plans to execute some “extreme maneuvers” and “high angles of attack.” This will help assess how the booster interacts with the atmosphere during its descent. Furthermore, they intend to test the grid fins and attempt the landing with fewer engines to evaluate how well it performs with limited engine power.

Balderas mentioned that while there are few changes to the ship’s exterior, several internal adjustments have been made. These include modifications to pressurization lines and other tests to evaluate the vehicle’s resilience to re-entry heat, following earlier tests that indicated issues like fuel leakage, among other internal updates.
