STARBASE, Texas (ValleyCentral) – SpaceX has announced the new schedule for their third attempt at the 10th Starship flight test, now set for Tuesday evening, as mentioned in a recent news release.

According to SpaceX’s website, the launch window for Starship opens at 6:30 p.m. Central Time.

The company had canceled its previously scheduled flight test for Monday due to the weather.

In this 10th launch, the Super Heavy Booster is set to conduct multiple flight experiments as it heads toward an offshore landing in the Gulf. Unlike previous attempts, it will not return to the launch site to be caught. SpaceX reports that the main focus for the booster will center on its landing burn process and engine setups.

According to LabPadre Space Channel’s Louis Balderas, as the booster approaches its landing, SpaceX will execute some “extreme maneuvers” and explore “high angles of attack” to observe the booster’s interaction with the atmosphere during its descent. They will also test the efficacy of its grid fins and aim to reduce engine usage to determine the minimum number of engines necessary for a successful landing with reduced thrust.

Balderas further mentioned that while the outer structure of the ship remains largely unchanged, significant internal adjustments have been made to the Starship. For instance, modifications to pressurization lines and additional tests are in place to evaluate the vehicle’s durability against re-entry heat, addressing previous findings of fuel leaks and other internal alterations.
