Diving in: When do Central Illinois pools open?

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — The days are lengthening, temperatures are rising, and with Memorial Day nearing, summer is on its way.

If you’re hoping to catch a tan, or splash around in Central Illinois, read on below to find out when your local pool opens this summer:

May 24

May 26

  • Charleston
    • Rotary Community Aquatic Center
  • Monticello
    • Monticello Family Aquatic Center

As of May 14, the opening dates for both the Arthur Community Swimming Pool and the Farmer City Pool remain undecided. WCIA also contacted the Danville Park District for information on their pool’s summer schedule, but has not yet received a reply.

On May 2, the Paxton Park District stated that their 2025 pool season will be postponed. Meanwhile, WCIA’s partners at the Ford County Chronicle have reported that Gibson City’s community swimming pool is set to open in early June.
