CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — As energy rates increase, lawmakers have been addressing public concerns — dedicating time today to provide solutions.

State representatives Carol Ammons and Paul Faraci hosted a joint town hall at the Illinois terminal in Champaign. They invited specialists to discuss the reduction in social services and the hike in energy costs. Ammons noted that the escalation in costs caught her off guard, prompting today’s event.

“We said, let’s invite Ameren here to see what actions can be taken,” Ammons explained. “We also invited Community Solar and the Solar for All program because they are instrumental in helping people reduce their energy costs. However, many are still unaware of these programs. So, we combined these discussions in one town hall to offer resources and insights at the same time.”

Ammons says the resources talked about tonight will be available online. To find that information you can visit either Ammons website or Faraci’s.
