Storm Team 3: More storms possible Wednesday through Friday

Storm Team 3: Potential for Additional Storms from Wednesday to Friday

A few strong and severe storms were rolling through some of our inland counties Tuesday evening.

Reidsville Airport had a 55-mph wind gust and there were reports of tree damage in southern Tattnall County.

Thunderstorms and areas of heavy rain will persist into the night, but as we approach Wednesday morning, mainly dry conditions are expected.

On Wednesday, the likelihood of storms will decrease compared to Tuesday. Nevertheless, there is still a slight chance for some isolated strong or severe storms.

Due to a nearly stationary boundary across the region, we will see ongoing chances of rain showers and thunderstorms in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry. These storm chances will increase for Thursday and Friday.

A few isolated strong and severe storms are possible each day.

Damaging wind and hail will remain the primary threats Wednesday through Friday with any severe storms.

Drier weather finally returns for us over the weekend as a weak cold front sweeps off of the coast Friday and into Saturday.

This front will set us up for breezy and gusty conditions even without severe storms on Friday. Weekend high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Next week is looking to start out mainly dry and hot with afternoon highs getting back into the upper 80s to lower 90s.
