SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Thursday begins with warm and very humid conditions as high pressure over the Gulf brings in deep tropical moisture.
This, combined with a mid-level disturbance, will result in another active afternoon. The abundant heating and moisture will trigger scattered to numerous storms. Additional lift may create conditions for isolated severe storms.
This afternoon, storms will have the potential for damaging straight-line wind gusts and heavy rainfall, possibly causing localized flooding. Not everyone will experience storms, particularly strong and severe ones, but stay alert and be ready to move indoors. Storms will also feature frequent lightning.
The most-favored time for storms will be between Noon and 8 PM. After sunset, expect activity to wind down.
The aforementioned mid-level disturbance will move out of the region for the end of the week into this weekend. Rain chances will gradually drop off to 20-30% & afternoon high temperatures will be slightly above average this weekend.
