SAVANNAH, Ga. () – Expect another scorching day, akin to yesterday, though with slightly reduced chances of rain. This means that temperatures will rise even further, with highs touching the upper 90s and heat indices soaring between 105 and 110 degrees. As a result of this intense heat, there’s a heat advisory in place for Montgomery and Toombs counties from 11 AM to 8 PM today.
An upper-level low to our north, along with high pressure over the Gulf, is maintaining surplus moisture in the area. This weather pattern will persist into the upcoming work week, leading to scattered afternoon thunderstorms each day. Temperatures will continue to be in the 90s, but today is anticipated to be the hottest day of the week.
As we look forward to mid-to-late week, we’re keeping an eye on a potential tropical disturbance that could bring more moisture. It’s still too soon to confirm its development, but we’ll be monitoring it closely.
