Storm Team 3: Storms return today with a cooler work week ahead

SAVANNAH, Ga. () – Today, we’re observing a cold front passing through the area, bringing increased moisture to the region. Before it arrives, anticipate hot and humid weather, with a likelihood of storms developing in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures are expected to rise into the low to mid-90s, with heat indices possibly reaching near 100 degrees. Thankfully, the cold front will offer some respite, allowing for a cooler start to the work week.

After moving through today, the front will come to a halt just south of us through the middle of the week. This will maintain the presence of moisture and cloudiness, along with scattered showers and storms from Monday to Wednesday. Temperatures will be significantly cooler, remaining below the average in the lower 80s.

As conditions begin to dry up later in the week, temperatures will gradually increase to the mid-80s. Nevertheless, the 80s will provide a pleasant break from the recent heat and offer a refreshing hint of the upcoming fall season.
