SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Good morning everyone. StormTeam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley here, let’s have a fabulous Friday & holiday weekend!
Our Friday morning began with scattered light rain showers throughout the region. As the hours progress, we see a drying trend with mostly cloudy skies. This afternoon, there’s a slight chance of an isolated shower. Temperatures will be comfortably in the mid-80s.
Looking ahead to the holiday weekend, a system moving across the Gulf Coast states will bring waves of moisture through Labor Day on Monday. As it approaches us on Saturday, expect likely rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with the possibility of heavy rain at times leading to minor street flooding.
By Sunday and Monday, the system is expected to drift south and become stationary over central Florida. This will lead to occasional showers on both days, though less widespread than Saturday’s activity. For Labor Day on Monday, a low-pressure system might develop off our coast along the stationary front, potentially increasing cloud coverage. High temperatures will remain comfortably below average, ranging from the low to mid-80s.
