Democratic strategist Chuck Rocha criticized former Vice President Kamala Harris’ book tour, suggesting it won’t benefit the party in upcoming elections. He called it “rehashing the worst election we ever had.”

Rocha, with 36 years of experience running Democratic campaigns, expressed on ’s “Batya!” that Harris’ book “107 Days” feels like adding insult to injury. He highlighted the party’s subpar performance in the 2024 election, noting they underperformed in approximately 96% of counties compared to Joe Biden’s 2020 results.

“I don’t think looking back and rehashing the worst election we ever had” is constructive, he commented. “I believe it’s crucial to focus on what the party needs to do to progress.”

He said that means focusing on combating Republicans and winning back working-class voters.

Harris embarked on a book tour covering 15 cities, including the United Kingdom and Canada, for “107 Days,” which details her brief White House campaign.

Republican Kari Lake joined the conversation, expressing contentment to see Harris in the spotlight as she believes it aids Republicans in retaining power. Lake criticized Harris’ oratory skills and Democratic policies on immigration, jobs, and inflation.

Rocha, who grew up in a trailer home in East Texas, said he joined the Democratic Party to oppose trade deals and preserve American jobs. He expressed concern about the party drifting from its working-class roots and failing to effectively address labor issues.

When pressed about why he doesn’t join the Republican Party given Trump’s appeals to working-class voters, Rocha said he believes Republicans only want those voters for their votes, not because they genuinely care about their concerns.

Rocha said the party’s future might lie with politicians like Rep. Gabe Vasquez of New Mexico, describing him as “a Latino who’s not scared to go hunting and fishing every weekend, who talks about workers.”
