SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Saturday, the Georgia Economic Empowerment Summit was held at Savannah Technical College. The theme was “Moving Georgia Forward.”

State Representative Carol Gillard organized a free event, allowing attendees to learn about the local economy and explore new job opportunities in the region.

The event included a panel of experts from the film, music, and health industries, along with discussions on services available to military veterans.

The event also included live entertainment and a complimentary breakfast and lunch for all attendees.

Gillard emphasized the goal of the event was to empower individuals. “Typically, people don’t have access to this information. We’re ranked number two in feature films, so having prominent industry figures here gives people a chance to enter the music and film sectors. They often lack access to such opportunities, so we’re making them accessible.”
