MAITLAND, Fla. – Maitland police and firefighters responded Thursday afternoon to a crash involving a SunRail train and a vehicle.
The collision took place shortly after 1 p.m. at the corner of Packwood Avenue and Maitland Avenue, as reported by the Maitland Fire Rescue Department on their social media platform.
Motorists were advised by the fire department to seek alternative routes, while SunRail noted that police presence had caused a 20-minute delay for trains P318 NB and P321 SB.
There was no word of any potential injuries at the time of this report.
This incident represents the second announced delay for SunRail on Thursday. The initial delay was in the morning when three employees from the Orlando Utilities Commission sustained injuries downtown, necessitating hospital treatment, as per the utilities provider.
