WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Washington County Tennessee Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) detained a man wanted in Greene County after an alleged pursuit on Monday.
The WCSO reported that Cody William Browder, 34, faced numerous felony charges in Greene County. Deputies located Browder on Monday afternoon at the Bowmantown Ruritan.
A news release from the WCSO states that when deputies attempted to take Browder into custody, he fled in a vehicle down Barkley Road.
Browder allegedly hit a mailbox and a WCSO cruiser during the pursuit and headed back toward Bowmantown Road.
After a short pursuit, deputies used a PIT maneuver in the 200 block of Bowmantown Road. Consequently, Browder’s vehicle collided with a power pole, according to the release.
The WCSO took Browder into custody and charged him with felony assault against a first responder, evading arrest, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence and reckless driving. He was transported to Washington County Detention Center.
As of Tuesday morning, Browder was being held on a $71,000 bond. He was set to appear in court Tuesday.
