OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma City Police assisted ICE agents on Sunday morning to locate a suspect who allegedly rammed into an immigration officer’s car.

According to OKCPD, the suspect jumped out of the car and took off, but was nearby. Police searched for the suspect with canines but were unable to find him.

After zeroing in on a house in the area, police tried to talk with the homeowners, but no one answered.

While this unfolded, police say someone who lived in the house drove by and confirmed the suspect had forced his way into the home.

Officials said there were two people inside the home when the suspect broke in.

“At that point, we were able to get a hold of the victims by phone and tell them they absolutely needed to come out, and officers were waiting for them outside,” said Capt. Benjamin Weir, Oklahoma City Police. “Whenever the victims came out of the house, the suspect then decided that was a good time to give up, and he was taken into custody without incident.”

Police said the suspect is a 26-year-old, Julio Ramirez.

Ramirez appeared to be taken away by ICE agents. However, News 4 has not been able to confirm who has Ramirez in custody or where he is being held.

It is not clear what led up to Ramirez allegedly ramming into the agent’s car.

Ramirez will be charged with burglary, looting, assault, and battery on a police officer, out of Oklahoma County.

It is unknown if ICE agents will bring charges against him.
