(KTLA) — For the first time in two decades, Taco Bell is adding a new flavor to its Mountain Dew Baja Blast lineup. It’s called Baja Midnight.

The beverage, which merges the taste of passion fruit with the tropical lime essence of the classic Baja Blast, is set to launch on August 14 as a regular item on the menu.

“Our fans are the reason it became iconic. They’re also the driving force behind our decision to broaden our offerings for the very first time with Mtn Dew Baja Midnight,” stated Taylor Montgomery, chief marketing officer of Taco Bell. “It’s surprising, it’s the signature Taco Bell purple, and it’s delicious enough to deserve a spot in our fanbase’s hearts.”

Baja Midnight will be available in two formats, both designed to pair with Taco Bell’s menu:

  • Mountain Dew Baja Midnight ($2.49 small / $2.79 medium / $2.99 large): The first-ever twist on the cult favorite flavor, blending passion fruit with the signature tropical lime taste.
  • Mountain Dew Baja Midnight Freeze ($3.79 regular / $3.99 large): A frozen version of the new flavor for fans who prefer an icy treat.

The company says Taco Bell Rewards members can score a free medium Baja Midnight on August 15 with a $5 purchase in the Taco Bell app.
