JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A chiropractor from Johnson City has been honored with the 2025 James R. Cole Heritage Award by the Tennessee Chiropractic Association (TCA).
A release from the TCA said that Dr. Brion Jones, of Jones Chiropractic Clinic, has served on the TCA board for 13 years as the District 1 director.
The announcement highlights Jones’ volunteer work throughout Washington County, which includes his involvement with the Johnson City Civil Service Commission, Boy Scouts, local parks, and East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Athletics.

“We are proud to recognize Dr. Jones for the remarkable contributions he’s made,” said TCA Executive Director Tiffany Stevens in a release. “His determination, humility, and strong voice for unity and progress have created a lasting heritage enriched by his over 30-year career of excellence.”
Jones pursued pre-medical studies at ETSU and completed his chiropractic education at Life University. Upon graduating, he gained experience as an associate under TCA mentors Dr. Jim Messimer, Dr. Joe Birdwell, and Dr. Lonnie Jackson.
Subsequently, Jones established his practice, Jones Chiropractic, where he currently has three staff members and collaborates closely with his wife, whom the TCA recognizes as an essential team member.
“An active TCA Gold Member for 20 years, Dr. Jones’ strong sense of justice and no-nonsense leadership have been a strong voice both within the profession and on ‘the Hill’,” the release states.
Jones accepted his award from TCA President Dr. Alison Davidson at a conference hosted by TCA this week.
