KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — State Representative Bud Husley, a Republican from Kingsport, has introduced a new piece of legislation aimed at safeguarding Tennessee homeowners from steep property tax increases. Known as House Bill 2607, this proposal seeks to limit property tax hikes to a maximum of 2% annually. There is, however, a provision that allows municipalities to exceed this cap if they find additional increases to be crucial.
